Program Description

Discover the rich cultural heritage of the Ozarks while you enjoy a week of games from yesteryear, fascinating folksongs, and memorable storytelling. Together, grandparents and grandchildren build and decorate a sturdy cardboard mountain dulcimer. Everyone learns to play great old-time songs on this easy-to-play instrument! Hilarious games and lively folk dancing please all ages. Spark your creativity with soap carving, toy making, taffy pulling, and t-shirt painting. Grandparents rekindle memories while grandchildren build new ones - and learn about each other in the process! Enjoy a live show and be thrilled by beautiful horses. Daily swim time scheduled. Instructors include Ozark balladeers, folklorists, storytellers, and educators.
